Simple. Easy. Full of flavor. Those are the three elements I like to incorporate into a fish dish. Tuna needs little embellishment when it is fresh and good quality. This recipe hits all these notes and is so delicious. I hope you try it!

Ingredients: (serves 2-3)

2 tuna steaks

2 tbsp cracked black pepper

Sesame seeds

Canola oil or vegetable oil

1/2 cup hoisin sauce

1 lime, juiced

2 tbsp orange juice

Peanuts, crushed

Chopped scallions

.

Pat your tuna steaks with a paper towel. Coat in a layer of pepper and sesame seeds on each side.

Heat up your frying pan to medium high with 1 tbsp oil. Place your tuna in the pan and sear for 1-2 mins per side, make sure to seat the edges as well. Remove from the pan.

In a bowl, mix together the hoisin sauce, lime juice and orange juice. Set aside.

To serve, slice your steaks against the grain. Stagger the slices on a plate, drizzle with the hoisin sauce, top with crushed peanuts and scallions. Enjoy!
