If you’re a coffee lover like me, this is your next steak recipe! Oyster steaks are reasonably priced and delicious. The coffee flavor comes through so beautifully, and the spices tie it together with the steak in the best way possible. Top it with the chunky Chimichurri, and you have a winner dinner!

Ingredients:

1 lb oyster steak (I used 3 pieces total)

2 tbsp ground coffee (instant works too)

1 tsp salt

Pepper to taste

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp mustard powder

Pinch of cayenne

Pinch of red pepper flakes

1-2 tbsp olive oil

1/2 red onion, minced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup parsley, chopped very fine

1 tsp dried oregano

.

For the steak:

Heat oven to 400.

Mix the coffee, salt, pepper, garlic, paprika, mustard powder, cayenne and red pepper in a bowl. Mix in 1 tbsp olive oil at a time until the coffee forms a paste.

Pat down your steak with a paper towel. Rub the coffee coating on the outside of the steak. Sear in a pan over medium high heat for ~2 mins on each side. Once a little crust has formed, remove onto an oven safe baking dish.

Place in oven for 8 minutes for medium rare, 10 minutes for medium and 12 minutes for well done. Once finished in the oven, cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and let rest for 10 minutes.

For the Chimichurri:

Mix your minced red onion, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper to taste and a pinch of red pepper flakes with 1-3 tbsp of olive oil, depending on how oily you like your Chimichurri.

.

Slice your steak into 1 inch thick slices and top with the Chimichurri. Enjoy this easy and delicious steak dinner!
